Contemporary Drawing
Within our contemporary drawing class we work through three project-based assignments and a final open project.
The first project is about developing expressive drawing techniques by exploring portraiture.
Our second project is based on psychogeography where they explore their urban environment and conducting a ‘close noticing’ of moments and their psychological experience. They then create assemblages or drawings from these experiences.
Our third project is a performative drawing where we develop a set of actions that are primary to the concept or sensation explored with the physical drawing as secondary content. To begin exploring our bodies and performance we begin with a re-performance of a historical piece.
